Effect of wrapping on rate of cooling, using wind tunnel to simulate ship conditions; stems were wrapped in polythene or straw, and one was unwrapped; from observed weight losses latent heat quantities were approximately 1000, 680, and 500 Btu per hr per ton for unwrapped, straw wrapped and polythene wrapped respectively; estimate of cooling requirements in ship transport.
