Tow built by Yarrow and Co for United Africa Co comprises pusher tug Gongola and eight barges; length is 630 ft oa, max width 66 ft; train will operate on Niger and Benue rivers in French Cameroons; tug is twin screw tunnel type, with length of 105 ft 5 in. oa, and breadth molded of 23 ft; two Davey-Paxman engines each develop 560 bhp at 1250 rpm; two leading, four box, and two trailing barges are coupled to form tow.
