Open/closed shelter deck cargo vessel was built by Abo yard of Wartsila-Koncernen for Finland Steamship Co and, although there are four hatches, vessel is unusual in having two 'tween decks and lower hold open from forepeak bulkhead to engine room bulkhead, distance of some unobstructed 180 ft; length oa 300 ft 4 in., breadth molded 45 ft 11 in., depth to upper deck 26 ft 7 in., draft (open/closed) 18 ft 4 in./22 ft, corresponding dw (summer) 2535/3623 tons; 6-cyl Wartsilabuilt Sulzer engine develops 3400 bhp at 250 rpm.
