Twin-screw diesel-electric vessel built for Canadian Overseas Telecommunication Corp by Canadian Vickers Shipyards Ltd will be operated by Canadian Coast Guard; vessel is equipped for repairing underwater cable in Gulf of St. Lawrence, along Atlantic seaboard and in Eastern Arctic; length oa 313 ft 4 in., breadth molded 60 ft, molded draft (loaded) 22 ft, dw 2200 long tons; four 12-cyl Fairbanks, Morse engines drive generators supplying two Westinghouse propulsion motors.
