Results of examinations of rail shelling which arose in tracks in jurisdiction of Japanese National Railways Shikoku Regional Office and tracks of privately-owned railroads including Tokyo Express Electric Railway; conditions under which shelling occurred, conditions of train operations, and rail materials which developed shelling are examined.
