Paper based on studies by Space Div of Chrysler Corp proposes addition of four 120-in. solid rocket motors to Saturn IB vehicle as "Zero Stage" as attractive method of upgrading vehicle performance; Saturn IB payload capability of 40,000 lb in low earth orbit can be increased to over 78,000 lb by implementing concept; impact of Saturn IB/Zero Stage configuration on support facilities and typical schedule for implementing such program are shown.
