Design studies performed for Communications Satellite Corp comprised random medium, phased medium, and synchronous altitude system types; satellite designs resulting from studies are presented; random medium altitude satellite weighs 130 lb and is designed for launching of two satellites by Delta vehicle; phased medium altitude satellite weighs 250 lb and is capable of being launched in multiples of two through five satellites per launch, depending on launch vehicle; synchronous satellite is intended for initial placement in orbit of four satellites by Atlas-Agena and replacement singly by Delta; other details.
