Building and repair docks at Nagasaki Shipyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd are now in operation; vessels up to 200,000 tons dw can be built and repaired; it is estimated that annual shipbuilding capacity is 650,000 gross registered tons and repair capacity 4 million; length of both docks is 350 m, width 56 m, depth 14 m; water filling can be done in 1 1/2 to 2 hr and draining in 2 to 3 1/2 hr; building dock is equipped with two 300-ton Goliath cranes and three 80-ton jib cranes.
