Application of pendulum method; particular reference to effects of air, in which airplane is immersed, on swinging tests and to procedure by which these effects are taken into account; owing to effect of ambient air, virtual moments of inertia obtained directly through application of pendulum formulas are greater than desired true moments of inertia.
