Various factors considered by Sulzer Bros in deciding whether single-or double-acting engine should be used; details of power plant for Belgian ship, Prince Baudouin, for service between Dover and Ostend; airless-injection single-acting 12-cyl engine will develop 8500 bhp at 268 rpm with cylinders of 1 ft 10 7/8 in. bore and 2 ft 9 in. stroke; engines are of similar construction to those used by Sulzer Brothers for locomotives.
