New departure in British railway services; cars are open from end to end; each train consists of 12 vehicles; at front end is combined brake and saloon; followed by two articulated saloons, kitchen buffet car, and again two saloons; last half of train is in reverse order; vehicles are 52 ft long in case of articulated saloons, others being 61 ft 6 in.
