Experimental investigation of thrust-augmented jets as prime movers; augmentation effected by allowing jet to mix with surrounding air in presence of bodies which deflect air set in motion by jet; six schemes tested with compressed air at room temperature at jet speeds up to 1240 ft per sec; gain in efficiency too small to make jet competitor of screw propeller.
