Problem of elasticity which fastening is deemed to require, special conditions encountered with long-welded rails, as well as electric insulation and service life of appliances used are discussed; aspects of driving of coach screws into polyamide dowels embedded in concrete are dealt with and results compared with those obtained with wooden dowels; fastening of rails by means of rigid or elastic spikes is described together with technical characteristics and applications of material into which they are driven.
