Paper presents more favorable applications of solid rockets as selected from number studied for NASA Marshall Space Flight Center to provide picture of cost and performance potentials against which technical risk can be weighed; application to several manned launch-vehicle concepts are considered as follows -- single-stage to orbit with boost-assist; two-stage vehicles with solid boost-assist; solid-boosted cryogenic stage; all-solid vehicles; vehicle summary and comparison.
