Thrust alignment of solid-propellant rocket motors can now be tested in high-altitude test cells at U S Air Force's Arnold Engineering Development Center while motors are spinning; spinning test rig operated at AEDC's, Tullahoma, Tenn, facilities, makes it possible to detect and correct misalignment before it becomes serious problem in actual space flight tests of spin-stabilized motors; details of major components of rig which adopted characteristics of conventional machinist's lathe to simulate conditions solids will encounter spinning at high altitudes.
