Paper develops application of constants of motion to indirect methods for obtaining solutions of optimal thrust trajectories by iterative procedures; four constants of motion for optimal thrust trajectories in central force field are derived as well as two additional constants of motion which hold for singular thrusting arcs and impulsive thrusts; paper applies constants of motion for impulsive thrust case to obtain set of initial conditions for classical adjoint variables to be used as good approximation for solution of finite thrust arc by indirect method.
