Results of investigation into factors and hazards involved in escaping rotary-winged aircraft in flight are presented; comparison is made with fixed-wing aircraft escape problems and it is shown that great amount of experience with fixed-wing escape can be applied to rotary-winged aircraft; use of ejection seat with helicopter is discussed.
