Studies of merging and weaving characteristics for automobiles and similar small vehicles operating under Australian conditions; using photographic method, observations were made at two sites on Cahill Expressway in Sydney; automatic operation of shutter on 16 mm camera was obtained by use of solenoid and electrical circuit; analysis of individual vehicles shown in enlarged pictures, enabled measurement of speed, lateral movement, gaps accepted, and time and length to complete merge or weave.
