Paper describes test procedure used and results obtained in establishing field recommendations of gear oil for use in lubrication of Mack heavy-duty power divider; differential power divider consists of driving cage containing 24 blunt nosed radial wedges which act as plungers in contact with inner cam attached to right hand rear axle and outer cam attached to left hand rear axle; test results indicate superiority of MIL-L-2105B gear lubricants for heavy-duty rear axle carrier lubrication.
