Functions of U S Army Test and Evaluation Command (TECOM), devoted to provide impartial tests and evaluations of equipment proposed for military use; two groups of tests embrace engineering (technical) and service (military oriented) tests, conducted on all new material to determine its suitability for Army use prior to production, and tests conducted as service to developing commodity commands and project managers to evaluate new ideas for military potential; test planning, examples of tests conducted, facilities used, and reporting procedures; evaluation of test results is compared against military requirements.
