Michell's theory for fine wedge-shaped bodies is extended to actual ship forms; resistance curves are given and compared with those of Taylor's standard series; author regards Michell's theory as valuable working hypothesis for exploration of ship resistance and hopes that future systematic model experiments will only be made upon analytically definable forms. Before Schiffbautechnische Gesellschaft. (including discussion) (see also Shipbldr., vol. 37, no. 238, Apr. 1930, pp. 404-405, 2 figs.)
