In 1928 French Admiralty ordered twelve tugs for harbor and coastal service at Cherbourg; dimensions are: length o.a. 26.5 m.; breadth molded 5.90 m.; depth molded 2.75 m.; mean draft, molded, 2.20 m.; machinery is of triple-expansion type, 250 by 410 by 670 Metz., stroke being 320 mm.; 300 i.hp. developed at 190 r.p.m.; designed to maintain speed of 10 knots on 4-hr. trial.
