First of five 98-ton cars built at Oneonta, NY, car shops, designed especially for transportation of heavy electric equipment such as transformers, dynamos and generators; light weight 54,900 lb; load limit 197,000 lb; length oa 40 ft 3 in. with clear well opening 16 ft long and 7 ft 6 in. wide; cars have Commonwealth cast steel 1-piece underframes and steel platform at each end of car.
