Illustrated description of two high speed versatile machines installed by Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad on existing tidewater timber pier at Newport News, Va, designed especially for handling manganese, chromium ore and other heavy cargo; each crane embodies traveling portal gantry surmounted by high speed full revolving crane with 90-ft boom capable of handling max load of 25 tons; crane weighs approximately 500,000 lb.
