Five Diesel sister ships are 416 × 60 × 27.5 ft draft, loaded in overall dimensions, have 14 knots speed with 7880 tons of cargo; main drive is duplicated, for continuous operation; two main Diesels are 6-cyl, 2100-hp at 233 rpm, connected through Westinghouse electromagnetic coupling and single reduction helical gear to single propeller shaft.
