Details of subsurface drainage system installed by New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad at two locations at Hartford, Conn, which resulted in elimination of all evidences of excessive water in roadbed, such as pumping joints and heaving track; although two installations are not far apart, they are entirely unrelated, one being located in 4-track tunnel and other in stretch of open track.
