Uses made of gas turbines by U S Navy; they are applied to hydrofoil craft of 15-300 tons, for driving minesweeping generators, as emergency sets in combat vessels, as air bleed unit to supply compressed air on aircraft carriers, for personnel boats; CODAG arrangement of combined plant which utilizes light weight of gas turbine and low fuel consumption of diesel engine, is among development programs discussed.
