One of problems facing designer of rotary wing aircraft is that of determining blade aerodynamic loading, in particular oscillatory content of this loading; using simple downwash theories, and placing blade in flapping equilibrium, it is possible to compute helicopter airloads corresponding to velocity change; simplified treatment of shed wake and application of theory presented.
