Factors that contribute to corrosion in commercial vehicles are discussed; review of materials and methods investigated for preventing corrosion which led to development and adoption of galvanized steel by Ford Motor Co; examples given of corrosion protection obtained on Econoline and light trucks using galvanized steel, zinc rich primer and other rust resistant primers.
