Most significant advantage to be obtained from use of rockets lies in extension of observable spectrum to wavelengths less than 3000 A; limitations of technique lie in short observing times dictated by roll rate of vehicle; with vehicle with suitable degree of stability it would be possible to obtain crude spectra of selected bright stars in short time offered by sounding rocket flight.
