Shortcomings of ion engine directed attention to higher thrust potential of colloids, and research necessary to define colloid dynamics; it is shown that by varying charge placed on each colloid particle, charge-to-mass ratio can be controlled, allowing specific impulse to be varied in flight, providing simple method of thrust control to obtain optimum flight paths.
