Development of defensive missile system proposed by Boeing Airplane Co and Michigan Aeronautical Research Center for employment by ground-based electronic environment to provide rapid engagement of massed bombardment formations or scattered attacks; system includes rocket boosted, ramjet propelled, supersonic missile, use of track-while-scan techniques in combination with computers to obtain high firepower, and missile borne radar, ensuring interception and destruction of hostile aircraft at long range from target complex and launching site; characteristics of IM-99A and IM-99B system.
