At Firestone Tire and Rubber Co, 4 baselines were set down as design guide for construction of tires to be used in test program; 2 constructions evolved which were nearly identical except for tie-in of plies around bead; results of commercial car tests, taxi cab fleets, district sales cars, and Canadian tests with regard to strength, beads, retread signal, and overall performance.
