Stability of plane librations of near-earth satellite subjected to aerodynamic and gravity gradient torques is examined for general case of eccentric orbit; stability boundaries are determined numerically and presented in terms of nondimensional configuration and orbit parameters; examples of both stable and unstable angular motions; configurations are analyzed to illustrate degree of aerodynamic attitude stabilization possible in orbit with practical vehicles.
