Models were tested with series of propellers, designed to cover range of revolutions for same power absorption, corresponding to 1100 hp for 100-ft full scale tug; results indicated that differences in bollard and towing performances of hulls are small when they are fitted with same propeller but, in all conditions from static to free running, conventional stern tends to give better performance.
