Design requirements for unmanned spacecraft intended for missions to Moon, planets, and interplanetary space depend on factors grouped into those relating to desired mission, those set by launch vehicle, and those set by various environments that spacecraft must either survive or operate within; these sets are not independent, if mission requirements conflict with those of launch vehicle, only course is to relax former; general design requirements.
