System installed along 4-mi section of Mound Road in Warren, Mich, concentrates flow of vehicles along highway into groups timed to arrive at intersections during green light interval; principal components are series of overhead signals and appropriate controls; system is based on German version of traffic funnel, used in Dusseldorf and Cologne, West Germany, and in areas of Switzerland; chart shows time space relationship upon which Traffic Pacer is based; evaluation of system.
