Simple method is presented of measuring torque in laboratory installations which consists of measuring torque reaction as strain in support member, instead of measuring it directly in rotating shaft; galvanometer, suitable power supply, and 4 properly mounted strain gages are required; experiences made with measurement and recording of torque in 3 different installations and difficulties encountered.
