Study of queues that build up in minor stream of traffic waiting to cross or merge with major stream; criterion for joining or crossing is that gap between vehicles in major stream be greater than or equal to some constant value; higher flow rate situations, where one car in minor stream queue is released in first-come first-serve fashion with appearance of gap.
