Background and development of air cushion vehicle by Bertin and Cie, La Garenne-Colombes (Seine), France, based on concept of platform with flexible, multiple bells (or multi petticoats) with differentiated feeds; vehicle consists of supporting chassis in form of flat light-alloy box 7.5×3.3 m under which are fixed 8 petticoats 1.55 m diam × 0.55 m high; engine is Turbomeca Marbore 2, gases from which are delivered through 8 Bertin injectors, each of which supplies one petticoat.
