Orifice effect is examined with both circular and rectangular orifices over range of pressures and heat-transfer rates; empirical relationship between actual and measured pressures is presented; it is found that, to first order, results can be correlated on basis of short side of orifice; this may be applied to correct for pressures measured in hypersonic flow experiments.
