Flight Director System utilized on C-141A "StarLifter" was developed as part of all weather landing system (AWLS) which is FAA certified for Category II weather minimums; AWLS system has successfully demonstrated manual operation to touchdown and is now operational in Air Force Military Airlift Command; flight director system incorporates some new internal computation techniques, includes increased number of operating modes over predecessor systems, and extends use through flare maneuver.
