Survey of whole spectrum of landing problems, including radio guidance, visibility measurements, aircraft dynamics, pilot psychology, geometric character of radio guidance, and political and regulatory aspects; critical assessment of landing air systems, their deficiencies, and efforts made by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and criteria established; tabulation of ICAO Low-Visibility-Landing ILS categories; it is concluded that present situation can only be resolved by "total systems approach" emphasizing modern electronic developments.
