Emphasis in flight investigation was on overcoming directional divergence due to unstable weathercock stability that occurs at low airspeeds, but short investigations of roll stabilizer to reduce pilot work load, and pitch stabilizing device to assist pilot to maintain attitude in presence of angle-of-attack instability, were included; it was found that lateral accelerometer operating through yaw reaction controls yielded directional handling qualities in "acceptable-satisfactory" region.
