Operation evaluation was made at Federal Aviation Administration test facility at Atlantic City, NJ, on two aircraft in simulated operational environment of instrument approach, landing, and takeoff, using pilots, navigation aids, and STOL port; information was obtained on characteristics such as instrument approach angle, beam widths or softness, deviations from approach course, approach obstacle clearance planes, threshold crossing heights, landing distance, takeoff distance, offset approach angles, etc; pilot evaluation and/or analysis of data have been used to arrive at findings and conclusions for two STOL aircraft when operating under 200/1/2 weather minimums and allowing for 12 knot crosswind and light to moderate turbulence.
