Airplane measures 246 ft in length, 223 ft in wing span, and its T-tail towers slightly over 65 ft above ground; four General Electric turbofan engines, each rated at 41,000 lb thrust, provide capability of airlifting 220,000 lb payload over 3050 nautical mi or 112,600 lb over 5500 nautical mi; upper deck, contains passenger carrying compartments, although cargo compartment may also be used for emergency evacuation of troops; accommodations for crew, relief crew, and troops are outlined together with operational aspects of cargo handling subsystem; procedures employed of loading, restraining, and unloading of vehicular, bulk, and palletized cargo; special mission kits are described, two of which are associated with cargo handling subsystem and three to personnel carrying capabilities.
