Assessment of certification problems of SST and standards that will be applied; broader aspects of air safety are discussed by examining whole of safety record as it stands today, at threshold of next era; three main tasks involved include continued study of past and present experience, study of differences in characteristics of SST to try to reduce high first part of learning curve and extension of science of reliability analysis in airworthiness field; most important part of safety assessment is "Fault Analysis" using mathematical terms.
