Taking into consideration centrifugal force, unbalanced weight in running part, lateral pressure due to wind, side thrust and acceleration, author studied condition of locomotive running on curve with body inclining outward and wheel pressure on inner rail reduced to zero; numerical values for narrow gage locomotive assumed to have had distance between wheels on both sides increased to standard gage; etc.
