Long rails usually carried on sets of two flat cars; as they are fixed in middle part of car, they suffer undesirable stress in passing curves, and wheels of car are apt to rise somewhat, rubbing against rail in track; by means of "turn-sleeper device" designed by First Transportation Department of Bureau of Traffic and Operation, test loading and transportation of long rails were made with satisfactory results.
