Study carried out by Fruehauf Trailer Div, Fruehauf Corp, to eliminate severe tractor pitch in vehicle combination showed that Rockwell-Standard tapered leaf springs produced lower frequency vibrations than conventional multileaf spring; comparison of results of tests conducted to give some idea of frequency range of multileaf springs, air rides, and Rockwell-Standard tapered leaf spring; test data also cover ride effect of semitrailer suspension on cargo and tractor cab; effect on cargo at three points in open top van semitrailer and tractor cab is shown.
